My new camera body arrived the other day. So I thought it would be a good time to go out and give it a serious test drive. I currently have a Canon EOS 400D but wanted to upgrade to a full frame camera. I would try to get hold of a 1Ds Mk II but could stretch my funds. So I decided to go for a 5D instead. I don't really need the battle ship build quality of the 1Ds anyway. Well it arrived save and sound from Hong Kong and I didn't get hit with the import duty which was nice. I saved about £300 compared to the UK price.

I went out and took some night scenes along the River Thames in London and I was very impressed with the detail. I have no regrets in upgrading. The 400D is now on Ebay!. I just love the full frame coverage of the 5D!
